CITY stamp collectors are to celebrate the 2,000th meeting Sheffield Philatelic Society.
The meeting on Thursday will take place at 7.15pm in the Central United Reformed Church in Norfolk Street, Sheffield city centre.
The society, which first met on October 2, 1894, is thought to be the oldest continually running Philatelic Society in the country. Others were formed earlier but have since folded.
The celebrations continue with a stamp exhibition at Ponds Forge on May 6 and 7.
