Staff at a Barnsley developers have set off on the latest leg of their annual charity ride.

The 19 riders from Dransfield Properties Ltd set off from the Italian city of Trieste and will cycle 360 miles in five days, through the Alps to Munich, Germany.

It is the eighth year that members of the team, nicknamed The Mamils, have taken on a Tour of Europe, after starting in 2007.

This year the team is raising money for Action Against Cancer and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Managing director Mark Dransfield said: “It does get a little harder each year but we enjoy the challenge, adding on more miles or more hills each time. This year we seem to have done both - we’ve got 360 miles to cover over five days and a few very challenging climbs to get over through the Alps.”
