Staff and shoppers at Sheffield store raise cash for city charity

Shoppers at Marks and Spencer’s Fargate store have raised over £17,900 for Cavendish Cancer Care in Sheffield over the last year.

The cash will pay for over 50 patients to access support at the Broomhall-based charity over the next year.

A number of initiatives raised the money, including staff challenges, volunteer bag packing and musical performances.

Mike Sawkins, Fundraiser at Cavendish Cancer Care, said: “We were thrilled to be chosen as the Fargate store’s charity of the year. We’ve managed to raise over double the amount that the store has raised previously for any other charity.”
