PLANS to hand over control of the council-owned Keepmoat Stadium to Doncaster Rovers are expected to be approved by Mayor Peter Davies’ cabinet today.
Mr Davies wants to take action to stop the taxpayer footing any more losses on the £32 million stadium, which has so far lost £2.1 million.
Under the deal, Rovers would pay £100,000 a year to lease the Lakeside venue.
But the council will pay £75,000 towards insurance costs.
A final signing off of the agreement is expected to happen on Saturday, August 11, a week before the start of the football season.
