YOUNGSTERS hoping to be diving stars of the future met some of the sport’s best - when the US Olympic diving team turned up in Sheffield.

Members of the US team, who have chosen Sheffield as their British training base in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympic Games, were at Ponds Forge Centre to spend time with six young divers aged seven to 10, who are already competing nationally.

American sports stars Troy Dumais, Kassidy Cook, Kristian Ipsen and Cassidy Krug passed on training tips to Sephora Ford, Corey Goodinson, Raffael Benitez, back - Richelle Houlden, Jeremy Hamshaw-Thomas, Archie Douglas and Ivan Hamshaw-Thomas.

Diver Troy said: “It’s always good to meet young people who are passionate about diving, and I’ve been blown away by how much progress these divers have made.”
