A SHEFFIELD sports lecturer is preparing to jump out of a plane for charity.

Chris Cutforth, who works for Sheffield Hallam University, will skydive from 15,000ft at Hibaldstow airfield, near Scunthorpe, to raise money for the British Red Cross.

Chris, of Fulwood, Sheffield, said: ““Having reached the age of 50, I have a list of things I want to do and achieve and this is one of them. Thanks to the generosity of family, friends, work colleagues and students I have smashed my target of raising £350.

“I know the money I have raised will prove invaluable to those who have been affected by a crisis. I encourage others to do similar events and activities to raise money for British Red Cross.”
