MEMBERS of a South Yorkshire disabled sports club visited London’s Olympic Park - and bumped into chief organiser, Seb Coe.

Members of Rockley Disabled Sports Club used a specially-adapted coach to make the trip south, thanks to funding from a partnership between Barnsley and Newham Councils and Barnsley Rockley Rotary Club.

Sports club chairman, David Allen, said: “We had an absolutely fabulous day.”

The group had a chance meeting with Lord Coe who spent time having his photographs taken with members and signing autographs.

David said: “It was really good of Lord Coe to take time out from his busy day and talk to the club members and thank us from making the trip from Barnsley”.

Club member Carol Wright said: “We had a fantastic, brilliant day - it was a totally unique experience.”
