DONCASTER College students took a short trip across South Yorkshire to get a taste of Sheffield sporting action.
BSc Hons Sport, Fitness and Exercise Science and BSc Hons Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences students went to view facilities at the city’s English Institute for Sport where world class training facilities include an indoor athletics area, the GB boxing centre and the world snooker academy.
Students learned of the range of support available to elite athletes, which form the types of jobs Doncaster students are working to pursue. These include performance analysts, strength and conditioning coaches as well as technical coaches. Tom Mitchell of Doncaster College said: “I hope it inspires our students to really explore the possibilities there.”
