Sporting campaign suits blind golfers to a tee
FORE! One of Sheffield's most exclusive golf courses hosted a charity day to raise awareness of a new initiative that enables blind people to get in a round.
Dore and Totley Golf Club hosted the launch of the attempt by Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind to drum up support to offer blind and visually-impaired golfers a club of their own.
The day was organised by SRSB fund-raising manager Sue Coggin and Caroline Morris, who is on secondment to SRSB from John Lewis as part of their Golden Jubilee Scheme.
Sue said: "It was a great opportunity to let people know what the club is all about. Around 20 of our clients would love to play golf on a regular basis.
"But to do that we need people to help. Someone, perhaps, who can help visually impaired golfers get around the course and help them with their game."
