COMMUNITY road watchers have been out and about in Derbyshire on the hunt for motorists breaking the speed limit.
The volunteers have been helping officers from the Hathersage Area Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team carry out checks in Hathersage, Calver and Foolow.
Six motorists were caught travelling above the 30mph speed limit on Sheffield Road, Hathersage.
Those caught speeding will receive a letter informing them about the checks and reminding them of the local speed limits.
They will also be warned they face a fine and penalty points on their licenses.
PCSO Anthony Boswell said: “The initiative is all about reminding and encouraging drivers to have respect for the wider community and legal speed limits.
“The main aim behind the scheme is to encourage motorists to slow down and drive safely and we will be continuing to carry out checks throughout the Hathersage and Hope Valley areas.”
