THe pies have been baked and the peas are ready - but there’s one Sheffield-made ingredient remaining that gives every hearty meal a tasty kick.

The vital addition is of course Henderson’s Relish, which is supporting The Star’s Great Pie and Peas Up campaign in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.

Henderson’s – a staple of every Sheffield cook’s kitchen cupboard – has even had a special limited edition rebrand.

Bottles with the limited edition label are proving a major hit with buyers at the hospice reception in Whirlow and at the 10 St Luke’s shops across the city.

As the special brand goes citywide, the bottle will also be available to buy everywhere from supermarkets to corner shops.

Five pence will be donated to charity from the sale of every bottle.

Ged Carter, the hospice’s income development manager, said the partnership was ‘extremely important’.

“A splash of Henderson’s is guaranteed to give any pie a little extra flavour and the bottle with its special label will be a collector’s item in years to come,” he said.

Many suppers are already being planned for March at homes and venues across Sheffield but there’s still time to send for a registration pack. Visit www.stlukeshospice.org.uk to sign up.
