POORLY infants on Sheffield’s special care baby unit will each be getting special Christmas gifts this year, handmade by students from a city college.

Young people from Freeman College in the city centre have made a set of delicate pewter garlands which incorporate a teddy bear into the design, and can be used as a decoration or photo frame.

Every baby on the unit will receive a garland, along with other small toys which will be placed in a stocking at the edge of their cot.

The gifts have been paid for by the Sheffield Hospitals Charity. Visit www.sheffieldhospitalscharity.org.uk or call 0114 271 1351 to donate.
