I READ (May 10) about SiTraN, the institute researching neurological diseases. My grandson, aged only 27, is in the latter stages of Huntington’s disease which, like motor neurone disease, can have symptoms like dementia.
Huntington’s also affects co-ordination and sufferers eventually can do nothing for themselves. My daughter-in- law died of this, aged only 36.
You listed many neurological diseases but did not mention Huntington’s. Whenever I read about genetic illnesses, Huntington’s disease is always left out. I mean no disrespect to other terrible conditions mentioned. I wish the institute every success in finding treatments for all diseases and it would be very heartening to know they are researching the disease that killed my daughter in law and will eventually kill my grandson.
