A TEAM of animators are among businesses who have signed up for the Olympics - with a difference.
The workers will take part in human table football, a Sumo relay and a space hopper race as part of the Theo-lympics - organised to raise cash for the Children’s Hospital Charity.
The event takes place at Don Valley Stadium on Thursday, September 6, and more teams are being sought.
Tonya Kennedy from The Children’s Hospital Charity said: “During this summer of sport, we’re looking for Theo’s Business Team of the Year.
“It’s going to be a bit off the wall and should make a great night out for spectators too.”
Among the teams are Sheffield-based animators Redstar 3D.
Team captain Daniel Judge said: “We’re a small team at Redstar, but we try to do what we can for charity.
“We’re not a very athletic bunch but we’re really looking forward to Theo-lympics. We’re not too competitive, we’re in it for the fun.”
Also taking part are workers from Skills for Justice.
Kirsten Leslie said: “We’d already chosen The Children’s Hospital Charity as our charity of the year, and when they told us about the Theo-lympics we jumped at the chance to take part.
“We thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money for the charity as well as being fantastic for team building.
“We’re getting the whole of our organisation involved in raising money.”
Funds raised will go towards equipment, facilities and research at the hospital.
n Teams of five can register by Friday, August 10, at www.tchc.org.uk/theo-lympics.
