SHEFFIELD’s sporting superstar Jess Ennis will have a sympathetic face from South Yorkshire willing her on at the Olympics.
Senior physiotherapist Steve Borrill, from Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will be trackside for the heptathlon and other track events.
He was chosen from hundreds of applicants to provide rehabilitation and advice to athletes during the London Games.
Steve, along with colleague Karl Rudkin, went through a rigorous selection process - the culmination of many years of hard work with the NHS and also many hours working at national and international sporting events to gain experience.
At the Olympics the pair will deal with a range of soft tissue injuries and sprains.
Karl will be based in the Olympic Village Polyclinic. Steve said: “This is an amazing opportunity - we are really looking forward to it.”
