THREE men have appeared in court charged with a series of robberies at shops in Rotherham.

Detectives have been investigating a suspected armed robbery at Treeton News on April 6, which they believe is linked to similar incidents at Booze Barn in Rawmarsh on March 30, and Ring O’Bells Chip Shop in Kimberworth Park on April 3.

Jamie Parkhouse, 20, of Barbers Avenue, Rawmarsh, and two 17-year-old youths from the Rotherham area, have been charged with conspiracy to rob.

They were remanded in custody at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court.

A 29-year-old man, arrested in connection with the Treeton incident, remains on police bail pending further enquiries.
