South Yorkshire police searching for man who may have left burning car

Police are keen to trace a man who it is believed left his car after it set alight yesterday evening.

Officers are appealing for the man, believed to in his 20s, to come forward after a dark car Morris Minor car was found on fire on Midhurst Road at around 8pm.

They believe the man, described as wearing a grey tracksuit and a grey cap. was driving the car but left the area along Halifax Road after the incident.

It is unclear exactly what happened and it is not known if the man is injured.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers investigating are keen to trace the man and speak to anyone who may have seen what happened so that they can establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure the driver is safe and well.”
