OLYMPIC swimmer James Kirton helped launch a new pool which will help residents in a South Yorkshire village learn to swim.
James, from Barnsley, who competed for Great Britain in the 200m breaststroke at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, took a tour of the Aquafyn swimming and training centre, Low Common Road, Dinnington.
The 14m by 8m pool has been created in an old industrial building and is being run as a not-for-profit social enterprise.
Manager Stacy Laughton said about 800 people turned up to four open days which have been held before the pool officially opened this week.
