South Yorkshire murder investigation - dead man named

Police who launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in Doncaster last week have today named him.

Mark Simpson’s body was found at a property in James Street, Doncaster, at around 7.45am on Monday 15 May.

A post mortem examination concluded 38-year-old Mr Simpson died as a result of internal injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman, said today (Frid May 26): "Enquiries are ongoing and officers remain keen to hear from anyone who may hold information about the incident.

"Last week a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and a 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault. They have both been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
