South Yorkshire man accused of having a gun

Matthew James Hirst, aged 24, of Schofield Street, Mexborough, has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm and intent to cause fear of violence.

The charges relate to an incident in Avenue Road, Wath-upon-Dearne, on Wednesday, February 8, where a man was seen with a firearm.

Hirst has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, March 10.
