South Yorkshire Housing Association is calling on people living in Sheffield to give a few hours of their time to volunteer and make a difference to someone else’s life.
The housing association is running three projects in the city.
Its ‘Age Better in Sheffield’ scheme is aimed at combatting loneliness and at Cuthbert Bank volunteers help run an after school club.
Its Over2You project gives people the chance to provide feedback on their experience of using health and social care services.
As a quality researcher or a mentor, volunteers help give a voice to people who often go unheard.
Carl Hawkes, Volunteering Manager at South Yorkshire Housing Association, said: “Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do.
“Seeing the look on someone else’s face when they know you care and you are there to help them is amazing.
“The best thing about volunteering is that you can give as much or as little time as you want. You can fit it around work or family and we’ll give you all the training and support you need.
