A consultant psychiatrist has been recognised for her on-going commitment to student placements.
Dr Fariha Kamal, who is also an associate medical director at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, has been recognised in this year’s Clinical Teaching, Excellence and Development Awards.
Her certificate of merit was awarded by the Leeds Institute of Medical Education for continuous development and innovation in medical student teaching and placement programmes at the Trust, which provides mental health, learning disability and community services.
Dr Kamal has supported over 80 students completing placements with clinical services provided by the Trust, annually for the past two years.
She said: “It feels fantastic.”
