A CONSTRUCTION firm is helping to build a better future for nature.

Billington Holdings, which is based in Wombwell, has become a corporate sponsor for RSPB Old Moor in Barnsley.

Steve Fareham, chief executive, said: “We wanted to build on our existing links in the local community and have always had an interest in the RSPB through the work they have carried out.

“Our sponsorship not only benefits us from a corporate view point but as part of our membership we will be issued passes which will give our staff the opportunity to visit sites throughout the UK and get further involved with nature.”

RSPB Old Moor, a 250-acre wetlands nature reserve, is full of birds and wildlife.

Site manager Matthew Capper said: “It’s fantastic to have a local business recognise our important work.”
