A South Yorkshire charity has issued a warning about a conman calling at homes asking for donations.

Age UK Doncaster said there have been reports of a man in a tracksuit and baseball cap calling at homes in Cusworth claiming to represent the charity.

A charity spokesman said: "It has been brought to our attention that a young male has been going door to door in the Cusworth area claiming to be collecting on behalf of Age UK Doncaster.

"If anyone is approached by a young male in a tracksuit and baseball cap regarding donations for Age UK please shut your door and do not engage.

"Age UK Doncaster has never and will never send anyone collecting door to door for any reason."
