THE young son of former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Brad Jones has lost his fight with leukaemia.
His current team Liverpool wore black armbands for their match at Chelsea on Sunday in memory of five-year-old Luca who died on Friday.
Brad played for the Owls after being loaned to the club for three months in August 2006.
Luca, described as a ‘cheeky little five year old’ by his dad, had been undergoing chemotherapy in France where he lived with his mother.
A bone marrow match was found last year and Luca underwent what appeared to be a successful transplant - but earlier this year the family were given the news the leukaemia had returned.
