Somewhere to hide on Sunday

Yorkshire Wildlife Trust is keen to show budding twitchers the basics of birdwatching at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve, Doncaster, this Sunday, January 20, at 10.30am.

The reserve has a wide variety of birds all year round and some migrants that are quite rare such as the elusive and endangered bittern. There are 14 hides to choose from which are spread out over the 205 hectares of land and water.

Winter is one of the best times to get out and enjoy a spot of bird watching, with leaves off trees and waders and wildfowl settled on the lakes.

If you have received a new pair of binoculars or a telescope for Christmas and would like to put them to good use then head to the Beginners Bird Watching event by calling 01302 570 077 to book a place.
