Social media bid to help Danielle - victim of suspected Doncaster hit and run

Special facebook sites have been set up for Danielle Stoton, the Armthorpe teenager who is fighting for her life in hospital.

Eighteen-year old Danielle remains critical after a suspected hit and run in the early hours of Sunday. She is in a coma and surrounded by family and friends.

Her parents Michelle and Paul have told how facebook messages and tributes have helped them through the past few days.

A community page, ‘Get Well Soon Danielle’ has been created on facebook for people to join and contribute to.

A Facebook appeal has also been launched: Get-one-direction-involved-1DforStoton, in a bid to bring messages from Danielle’s favourite boy band, or even a visit to her bedside, as friends believe this could help in her recovery.

People are asked to like and share the facebook page. It is believed members of One Direction are aware of Danielle’s condition and local member Louis Tomlinson has already shared information on his own facebook.

In a further attempt to reach the teenager, who is on life support at Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital, the cast of Channel 4 television’s Hollyoaks have sent a signed card, with a photo on its way from character ‘Dodger’.
