A Doncaster man stole from his employers less than a fortnight after a suspended prison sentence for previous dishonesty had expired, a court has been told.
After hearing an outline of the case against Robert Allen, Doncaster magistrates decided the case was too serious for them to sentence.
Allen, aged 48, of Barnby Dun Road, Wheatley, had originally denied two offences of stealing from his employers, the Leisure Leagues five-a-side football organisation, but changed his plea to guilty.
The first theft, of £413, was committed on February 25 and the second, of £328, was on March 4. A 16-week suspended sentence for previous offences had expired on February 14.
Allen, who has been dismissed by Leisure Leagues, was sent to Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing.
