A South Yorkshire youngster with a life-threatening blood condition had a wish come true when she met the stars of her favourite TV soap.
Isabelle Critchlow, aged 11, has spent months in hospital but never misses an episode of Hollyoaks.
The youngster, who suffers from Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura, a disorder where her blood does not clot properly, was invited to the Hollyoaks set to meet the stars of the soap and to watch filming thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation UK.
She was driven to the Hollyoaks set by silver stretch limousine and was met by cast members including Kirsty-Leigh Porter, who plays Leela Lomax.
Isabelle, of Kimberworth Park, Rotherham, was given a tour of the studios and posed for photographs with the TV stars, who gave her their autographs and invited her to watch filming.
Isabelle’s mum, Rebecca, said: “The wish meant a lot to Isabelle – she was so excited in the run-up and is still talking about it.
“It was fantastic to have time together as a family and to see her so happy, especially after everything we have been through.
“We all had the most amazing time and memories were created that will never be forgotten.
“It is hard to choose a best moment but Isabelle loved meeting her favourite character Nancy, played by Jessica Fox, as she didn’t think Nancy was on set that day so it was an extra surprise.”
Make-A-Wish hopes to grant over 1,000 wishes this year.
