Travel South Yorkshire is urging people to take extra care and plan their journey in advance as forecasters issue warnings for wintry weather.

A yellow warning for snow has been issued by the Met Office for South Yorkshire overnight, persisting into tomorrow morning. The unsettled weather is expected to continue throughout the week.

Should the weather impact on public transport services, Travel South Yorkshire will provide live disruption updates to scheduled bus, train and tram services via local radio, its information centres, website travelsouthyorkshire.com, twitter @TSYalerts, and traveline 01709 515151.

A spokesman said: “In the event of severe weather, services may be subject to short notice cancellations and changes. Every effort will be made to keep disruptions to a minimum.”
