Sniffer dog's pub crawl hunt

A POLICE sniffer dog was taken to pubs in the Sharrow Vale area of Sheffield to look for punters carrying drugs.

The operation on Friday night concentrated on Sharrow Vale Road, Ecclesall Road and Psalter Lane.

Two cautions were issued after the dog found two people with small amounts of cannabis.

Inspector Craig Patchett, of the Sharrow and South West Sheffield Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "We want to send a message to people that we will take whatever action is needed to stop the supply and use of drugs on the streets and in public places."
