Smokers in Sheffield are being urged to kick the habit this month as part of a nationwide campaign.
The city centre’s NHS Walk-In Centre in Broad Lane is supporting ‘Stoptober’, which encourages people to pack in cigarettes for 28 days.
Extra support and advice will be on offer to anyone who agrees to take up the challenge. The campaign started on October 1, but health workers say it’s never too late for smokers .
Christian Ellwood, manager at the walk-in centre, said: “We would recommend that all smokers wanting to give up should take part in the Stoptober campaign and as a service, we’re working to help as many people as possible win their battle to give up smoking for good.”
