Smoker fined over cig butt

A SMOKER who flicked his cigarette butt from his car window in Chesterfield has been fined after failing to pay a fixed penalty notice.

Gordon Brown of Station Lane, New Whittington, was found guilty of dropping the cigarette on Infirmary Road, Chesterfield.

He was issued with a fixed penalty notice by a council enforcement officer but failed to pay it.

He did not attend court and in his absence was fined 70, and ordered to pay 100 costs and a surcharge of 15, totalling 185.
