SAY cheese Sheffield - and give yourself a big pat on the back.
Sheffielders have something to smile about today after it was revealed city residents’ efforts helped secure a £100,000 donation to children’s charity Barnardo’s.
More than 300 people from the city shared photographs of their smiles with oral health care company Colgate-Palmolive UK at the Keeping Britain Smiling roadshow in the city centre in June.
The initiative collected one million smiles and secured a £100,000 donation from the company.
Barnardo’s is a children’s charity which runs over 400 projects across the UK to support vulnerable children and young people.
The charity’s work includes: providing fostering and adoption services and support, helping children break free from sexual exploitation, supporting young carers and helping children living in poverty.
Allan McLaren, assistant director of fundraising for Barnardo’s said: “This money will help provide vital services and transform the lives of the thousands of children and young people we work with across the country.”
