ANOTHER cannabis farm set up in a Doncaster house has been uncovered - thanks to the pungent smell.
It is the latest in a long run of successes for police tackling the increasing problem of cannabis cultivation in domestic properties.
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team dismantled the cannabis farm set up in Thorne after receiving information from residents about suspected drug activity.
Officers were notified there was a strong smell of cannabis coming from an address on West Street near the canal.
The officers attended the property - and said they could immediately strongly smell the drug.
They entered the property and found a cannabis cultivation set-up with more than 20 large cannabis plants.
It is estimated that the drugs could have been worth around £4,000.
No-one has been arrested.
Sgt Stuart Rowse, from Thorne SNT, said: “We are pleased we have been able to stop this cultivation before these drugs ended up on the streets of Doncaster.
“I would urge anybody who suspects drug activity in their area to contact us so we can continue to put a stop to this.
“We are continuing with enquiries to locate and arrest the occupant of the house involved in the operation.”
