A FORMER pupil of Rossington All Saints’ School has been awarded a graduation certificate after successfully completing her Royal Air Force training.

Leading Aircraftswoman Rebecca Herrington, aged 18, trained as a Flight Operations Assistant at the Central Air Traffic Control School at RAF Shawbury, near Shrewsbury, in Shropshire.

Rebecca’s course involved five weeks of training in meteorology, flight planning, navigation, aircraft operations, communications and many other subjects.

That was then followed by a five week practical period putting into practice on simulators everything that had been learned in the theory phase.

Congratulating the RAF graduating course members on their achievements, and presenting them with their certificates of competency at a special ceremony held earlier this month, was Wing Commander Bellworthy RAF from Battlespace Management Capability at Air Command, RAF High Wycombe.

Joining Rebecca at her graduation were her proud parents Barry and Tracey Herrington. She is now looking forward to her first posting at RAF Northolt.
