Another prisoner has gone on the run from a South Yorkshire prison – the sixth in six weeks.

Mounir Jaouane, aged 22, absconded from HMP Hatfield in Doncaster.

He had been released on temporary licence to his former home address in Lathkill Road, Woodthorpe, Sheffield, but failed to return to prison.

Jaouane, who went missing at around 3pm on Monday, was sentenced to an indeterminate prison sentence for robbery in January 2007.

He is black, around 5ft 8ins tall, and of medium build. He has short dark hair and brown eyes.

Members of the public have been advised not to approach him but to call police on 101, quoting incident number 648 of June 30.
Five other men have fled HMP Hatfield since May – and 0nly three are back behind bars after being rearrested.

Burglar Damian Pearson, aged 24, absconded at 7am on Sunday and is still on the run, as is 43-year-old burglar Roy Burbeary, from Heeley, Sheffield, who escaped on June 15 – and later wrote a letter to The Star.

Richard Brown, 27, who was in jail for aggravated burglary, fled on June 10 but was rearrested in Scunthorpe.

Dean Jackson, 27, who was in jail for theft, escaped on May 21 but was rearrested in Newcastle. And Damien Burns, 39, who was serving time for a knifepoint robbery and fled on May 19, was rearrested in Scarborough.
