A MAN who raped a teenage girl in Doncaster has been sent to prison for six years.
Bohmir Hanko, aged 41, denied the offence during a five day trial at Doncaster Crown Court but was convicted by a jury on a 10-2 majority verdict.
The rape of the 15-year-old girl took place last year, shortly before her birthday.
The judge, Recorder James Hill, QC, told Hanko: “Whether you engineered a situation which allowed you to take advantage or it was more opportunistic doesn’t matter. You forced yourself on her, no doubt hoping she would be too embarrassed to complain.”
The judge said an aggravating feature of the case was that Hanko, of Ramsden Road, Hexthorpe, took no precautions.
After serving his sentence he will be deported to his home country of Slovakia.
