A PENSIONER has finally won a six-month battle to have an outside light fixed at her Sheffield council house.
Margaret West, of Lancaster Road, Stocksbridge, had her case taken up by town councillor Jack Clarkson last October.
Coun Clarkson said: “Basically this should be bread and butter stuff for Sheffield Homes to deal with.
“This is a health and safety issue because Mrs West has mobility issues and needs the light to see where she is walking. This is appalling customer service.”
A spokeswoman for Sheffield Homes’ contractor, Kier, said: “We apologise for the delay in completing this repair, which is partly due to a wiring issue.
“We have spoken to Mrs West, who is happy that we will be fixing the light today.”
