SIX men have been arrested after a woman was hit by a car and badly injured while walking along a South Yorkshire road.
The 22-year-old woman was struck by a silver Toyota Yaris on Eastwood Lane, Rotherham, 20m north of its junction with Howard Street.
She was thrown up onto the bonnet and landed on the ground beside the kerb.
The driver of the Yaris failed to stop, and the car was later found abandoned on nearby Spring Street.
The woman suffered a broken leg and a head injury, and is being treated at Rotherham Hospital.
Six men aged 43, 24, 20, 17 and two 19-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop.
