THE musical and vocal talents of young people in Thorne came under the spotlight at a summer showcase.
Year 10 students of BTEC Music at Trinity Academy put the concert together, from designing the programme and stage managing the performers to providing refreshments for the audience of parents and friends.
On stage, the artists put on a largely modern programme including instrumental pieces, solo vocalists and band performances with covers of The Kinks, Gotye, R Kelly, Foo Fighters and REM, rounding off with Stevie Wonder’s Superstition.
Academy band The Mondays rocked the audience and singers Robin Coe, Amy Woodroffe and Emily Liddle showed off their skills. The Academy wind band, percussion group, jazz group and Trinity Singers also performanced. The concert raised over £130 for the Academy’s charity fund.
