As with any injury, the first few weeks are always going to be an uphill struggle and it’s been a tough couple of weeks.
I’m back at home now and I had my first appointment with the surgeon on Monday afternoon, where he explained a bit more about the surgery to me. It was a really complex operation and there is a lot of metal work in my leg and ankle to stabilise it, but he was happy with how everything went.
I have another appointment with him in a month’s time and hopefully I’ll have some positive news to report back!
I have been keeping an eye on results and I have spoken to a few of the boys over the last few days. It was great to see Richard Hall have a good meeting for us on Thursday and it was also brilliant to see Damien Koppe score paid-10 while guesting at Somerset on Friday. We had a disappointing result against Newcastle but now we have to concentrate on our league form and try and finish as well as we can.
Tomorrow night Owlerton hosts the Top Gun Individual event and it’s always a brilliant meeting. Some of the best young riders around will be battling it out, including our own Adam Roynon so go and support him!
