SERVICES for senior citizens will be up for debate when Sheffield Council’s cabinet gathers to meet residents at a community assembly meeting.
The debate will take place between 5pm and 6pm tomorrow, at the South West Community Assembly meeting, at Banner Cross Methodist Church on Ecclesall Road South.
The issue of how to improve services for pensioners will be debated for 30 minutes. Following the discussion, members of the public will be able to ask cabinet members questions about other issues of importance to the community.
More than a third of residents in the South West Community Assembly area are over the age of 50, and the council predicts that, in 15 years, the number of over 65s in Sheffield as a whole will increase by 20 per cent.
