A FOUR-foot sign has been put up in Barnsley to welcome Chinese visitors to the town.
The sign has been installed on Gateway Church, at Mottram Street, in celebration of the town’s connection to a missionary who went to China in the 19th century.
James Hudson Taylor now has thousands of followers across China.
The sign is in both Chinese and English - complete with a QR code to point mobile phone users to the James Hudson Taylor Trail website.
English missionary James Hudson Taylor was born in Barnsley in 1832 and spent over 50 years in China.
Pastor Mark Reasbeck hopes that many more businesses, public buildings and churches will also order the same sign.
