The registrations have started coming in - but more Sheffielders are needed to sign up for the Great Pie and Peas Up campaign.
The Star is urging people to get behind a new fundraising drive in aid of St Luke’s Hospice by holding their own pie and pea suppers.
Readers’ own suppers can be hosted in homes, workplaces or community centres, and all proceeds go towards the cost of building the hospice’s new inpatient unit.
Suppers can be held anytime in March, and The Star will be providing suggestions and tips in the run-up to the event.
Fundraisers simply serve their meals and ask guests to make a donation in return - a minimum of £10 per person is suggested.
Activities can also be added to raise extra funds, such as an auction or raffle.
Prizes are on offer for the top fundraisers, and Henderson’s Relish are offering free bottles of sauce to the first 50 applicants.
