A CALL for governors at Derbyshire schools has been made.
People interested in making a positive contribution to children’s education are being urged to apply for the positions by the county council.
Qualifications are not required.
Ian Thomas, council strategic director for children and younger adults, said: “One of the most rewarding voluntary roles within our communities is our school governors.
“You just need the enthusiasm and commitment to give up a few hours of your time a month to attend meetings where you’ll work to improve life at schools in Derbyshire.”
Support is available for governors including training on a wide range of subjects.
Anyone interested in becoming a school governor can apply online by visiting www.derbyshire.gov.uk/governors.
