MOTORBIKE-mad Doncaster mechanic Paul Goddard stayed loyal to his favourite mode of transport right to the end.
Paul, the former owner of Mexborough’s Victoria Road garage, died earlier this month aged 47 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
And his love of bikes was reflected in his funeral as his body was carried to Mexborough Parish Church on a specially adapted motorcycle and sidecar.
Hundreds attended the dad of four’s funeral.
Queen’s Days Of Our Lives was played as the motorbike and sidecar approached and the service ended with the same group’s song The Show Must Go On.
Paul’s former wife Gwen said: “Paul was a lovely man – funny, daft, and very kind.
“He loved his kids to bits. He was very brave towards the end, despite suffering from a terrible illness.”
The service was conducted by Jayne Price, who described him as a DIY enthusiast who was well known for his practical jokes.
