A series of talks is to take place at Sheffield’s Central Library over the coming weeks about subjects ranging from Christmas to the Blitz.

Author and naturalist Patrick Harding will be giving a presentation in the Carpenter Room on Wednesday, December 4, from 6.30pm, about his book detailing the history and traditions of Christmas.

There will be mince pies and mulled wine.

A Christmas Book Quiz will take place from 6.30pm on Monday, December 9, with entry £5 per team.

Teams, which must pay for entry in advance, need a maximum of five people, and refreshments and prizes are available.

At the same time, on the same day, the Carpenter Room hosts a talk to commemorate the Sheffield Blitz with Neil Anderson, author of Sheffield’s Date with Hitler and Forgotten Memories from a Forgotten Blitz.

An Evening with Dave Berry takes place on Wednesday, January 20, at 6.30pm, in the Library Theatre.

Dave will tell stories about his life, from his childhood in Sheffield to his chart success and continuing career.
