Shops pass alcohol test
TEN shops in Barnsley checked for whether they sell alcohol to underage customers all passed the test.
The police check, organised by the Wombwell Safer Neighbourhood Team, involved two 16-year-old girls attempting to get served with alcohol.
Tesco on West Street, the Co-op on High Street and the General Store on The Parade, all in Hoyland, passed.
The Corner Shop on Hawshaw Lane in Hoyland Common and The Co-op on Hoyland Road all passed.
And Tesco on Wombwell Lane, McColls on Doncaster Road and Rhythm & Booze in Doncaster Road, all in Stairfoot, also passed.
The Premier Store on Wentworth Road in Jump, Morrisons on the Cortonwood Business Park and One Stop on Neville Avenue in Kendray also passed.
PC Simon Fletcher said: "Wombwell SNT would like to congratulate all 10 shops for asking for proof of age of the females and as a result, passing the test."
