Shoppers will have the chance to comment on ambitious plans to revamp Chesterfield’s outdoor market.
Chesterfield Borough Council will ask residents to complete a survey at a consultation event in the market place on Saturday.
The survey will include questions about their shopping habits and the opportunity to rate the current market and the stalls on offer.
Councillor Amanda Serjeant, the borough council’s executive member for leisure, culture and tourism, said: “Although Chesterfield’s markets remain extremely popular, we are aware that there are issues which we need to address to improve the open market and attract new traders.
“We are keen to seek the views of the people who use the market to help us in bringing forth plans to make improvements.”
In addition, the survey can be completed at www.chesterfield.gov.uk/markets between Thursday and Friday, April 3.
The council will carry out a further round of consultation on the plans in the summer.
